Who We Are:
Founded in 2020, over the past few years, we at the Rio Paraná NGO have developed several significant activities and projects aimed at environmental preservation, education and community awareness. During this period, we joined the Atlantic Forest NGO Network (RMA) , strengthening our work and expanding the reach of our initiatives.
MISSION
Protect and revitalize the Paraná River and surrounding biomes through education, supervision and restoration initiatives, promoting sustainable practices and community involvement.
PILLARS OF ACTION
1
EDUCATION
We generate knowledge about the importance of the river as a bioindicator, encouraging research at universities, carrying out educational activities in schools and promoting awareness-raising actions with riverside communities and settlers.
2
OVERSIGHT
We work in partnership with agencies at various levels, such as the environmental police, the Public Prosecutor's Office, environmental departments, Ibama and ICMBio. We maintain contact with politicians to develop specific laws for environmental recovery and protection.
3
RECOVERY
We participate in initiatives to curb river pollution and promote the regeneration of biomes, such as reforestation of areas, sustainable sanitation and agroforestry. We support small-scale initiatives to restore springs and riparian forests.
Governance
Our work is based on transparency, accountability and community participation, ensuring that our actions are always aligned with our principles of sustainability and innovation.
